Party time!

Last night was my cousin Abby's 13th birthday party. I haven't had the chance to go through all of the pictures yet because my computer is getting ready to die out on me. Here is one of her cute cake though:

Today I flew up to my parent's house in Indiana. I flew Airtran, and was pretty darn excited because I was able to use WiFi while on the plane. It really made the ride go by quickly.

I was packing tonight for my trip back to my parent's house tonight. I was almost done packing and Rae wanted me to know that I was forgetting one important item:

Dorm Night Out

Twice a semester the Academy takes the students out on a weeknight and call it Dorm Night Out. All dorm parents who are on duty have to go. Last night was the first DNO of the semester and we went to City Walk (created by Universal Studios).

Puzzle!

I'm having a hard time typing the word "puzzle" right now because Wrigley decided to snap off my Z on my keyboard when he felt the need to walk on it while my laptop was on my lap. I'm sure I can snap it back on, I just haven't done it yet.

Great weather!

The weather was fantastic today, and I was off so I went over and sat with Matt at aftercare for a little while. Here are a few pictures from that.

Magic Kingdom

Today Matt and I spent the first part of our day at Magic Kingdom. Matt wanted to pick up a puzzle with his left over gift card from his birthday (the promotion last year). He found two of them and got a t-shirt and still has $5 left! On his actual birthday he bought a tie for our cruise.

Wrigley's new "trick"

Our bed sits up pretty high. So high that Wrigley (yes he sleeps with us) can't jump onto it. We always have to lean over and pick him up when he starts whining when he decides he wants to join us for the night. We got a bit annoyed of doing his because he thought it was fun to jump off and then bark until we put him back on and repeat that process. So we taught him to jump from the love seat to the bed, it is his new "trick"... he LOVES it.

Now we will be sitting in the living room and get up to do something and we will see him snoozing on the bed. He is getting a bit bossy though. Today I heard some whining coming from the bedroom and I looked in and he was sitting right on the bed. He wanted someone to come lay with him. I went in and got on the bed for a few minutes and sure enough that was exactly what he wanted lol


This one is actually from yesterday but it shows you how much of a baby he is sometimes. I was off work last night so Matt was in the office. He would sit and whine at the door, so I would let him into the office with Matt. Then he would whine because he wasn't in the apartment. So we had to eventually just leave the door open a little bit, so the little prince would be happy.... this is where he was most of the time.

Aftercare

I had today off so I went with Matt to the school's aftercare program. A lady he works with (Sara) does photography and I went to talk with her a bit about it. While I was there a snapped a few photos of the kids.

Oh! In other news, we have our taxes done now. When we did a trial run with Turbo Tax it said we were going to owe over $300!! We used Tax Slayer today and we are now getting back over $400 :) Talk about a blessing. Apparently Turbo Tax wasn't giving us some credit or something like that. Bonus: We only have to file Federal so they only charge $9.95 for federal. Extra Bonus: I always look for coupon codes online for stuff like this, and I found a 20% off code so we paid something like $7.21 to have our taxes done, instead of paying $30 to Turbo Tax, which would have had us paying $300 instead of getting $400 back.

Since we went from owing to gaining, I think we will appreciate the gain more now than we would have before.

Mariano

Montverde has started a new after school activity for the kids, and it is Lacrosse. They are wanting to start up a team so I think they are doing this to spark some interest in kids. Well one of our boys, Mariano, decided to pick this as his activity. Tonight during study hall he was talking with me, and for whatever reason he had his Lacrosse stick and ball with him, so I snapped a few pictures of him.

Little Miss Rae

Today I worked down on the first floor of the dorm. Nothing too exciting, basically just sitting for something like 16-17 hours or so. It usually is really boring, but I watched a few movies to pass the time.

The Academy had a night out for employees this week, but house parents do not have a schedule that would allow us to go. The school kindly gave us a little treat anyways :) So today they brought us each a cupcake!

Bird Watching

Today Matt went to take the dogs out and he called me to come see a bird. It was a pretty neat looking bird. Unfortunatly I don't have a high zoom lens so this was the closest I could get.

I hate my computer

Aside from the fact that the next computer I buy will be a Mac, I don't think I will be buying an HP again anytime soon. I've only had my computer for a year and a few months and it is getting ready to die out on me. It is very loud (as in sometimes I can't hear my own thoughts), it gets very hot on the bottom, my internal mouse doesn't work, my battery is shot and lasts no more then about 1.2 mins before shutting down after I unplug it, my sound sometimes goes out, my letters stick.... oh yeah.... and I get messages like this.... and sadly it isn't uncommon.

Photoshop

This weekend I work all weekend. Which means I sit on the first floor of the dorm we work in for 17 1/2 hours each day of the weekend. Boring as all get out. I basically played all day on photoshop today. So this picture wasn't taken today but I played with it today.

Possible Logo

I've been working on possible logos for myself. I didn't do anything close to interesting today so I thought I'd just show you the first one that I created. Not sure yet about it - but it is something.

Matt and I went over to Hollywood Studios (a Disney Park) today before work. One of the things we did was the Animation Academy. They teach you to draw a Disney character. Today's was Stitch. The room is really neat:

Ordered my bridesmaid dress!

One of my best friends in the whole world is getting married in July! I'm so very excited for her and can't wait for the wedding. I just wish we were able to see they more often, but since moving down to Florida we haven't been able to see them very much sadly. Anyways I am a bridesmaid in their wedding and she has decided on a dress. I really like it, it is really cute. So today I ordered it from David's Bridal. I have nothing but good things to say about David's Bridal from our wedding (at least from my portion of dealing with them). But the one down here was a pain in the rear about ordering the dress. Thankfully we got it ordered.... let's just hope she got the order right lol

I didn't have any paper around when she was giving me some details so I had to use my hand.

Editing

Again this isn't a picture from today (sometimes my day isn't interesting enough for a picture lol). I've been playing around with photoshop today and even though I haven't used it since high school I do still remember my way around it for the most part. I'm having issues with selecting part of the image, but I'll get there.

Groceries

We went grocery shopping today. We tend to pick up a lot of our food such as chicken breast at BJ's wholesale. Every month BJ's sends up a coupon book. Most of the time none of the coupons apply to us, but this time we used two of out it :)
